New Deal To Keep Ukrainian At Bernabeu

Real Madrid Goalkeeper Andriy Lunin Nearing Contract Extension

New Deal to Keep Ukrainian at Bernabeu

Extension to Run Until 2028

Real Madrid goalkeeper Andriy Lunin is set to sign a new contract with the Spanish giants, according to multiple reports.

The Ukrainian international's current deal expires in 2024, but Madrid are keen to tie him down to a long-term extension.

The new contract is expected to run until 2028 and will see Lunin's salary increase significantly.

Lunin has made just 11 appearances for Real Madrid since joining the club in 2018, but he has impressed when given the chance.

The 25-year-old kept a clean sheet in Madrid's 1-0 win over Barcelona in the Copa del Rey semi-final last month.

With Thibaut Courtois firmly established as Real Madrid's number one goalkeeper, Lunin is likely to continue to play a back-up role.

However, the new contract is a sign of Madrid's faith in Lunin's ability, and it could see him become the club's long-term successor to Courtois.
